An Incredible Twelve-Year Run: Isle Skateboards Has Closed Its Doors

Isle Skateboards has officially closed its doors. In an IG post from founding member Paul Shier last week, he thanked everyone involved and broke the bad news to us all. We were there, and supported, the premiere of Vase, the best video of 2015, and were huge fans of the brand from day one. Isle filmed an epic section in our The Cinematographer Project: World View video. Watch the part again, embedded down below.

"12 years ago @nick__jensen @chrisaylen and I started @isleskateboards I want to take a moment to personally thank everyone who ever skated for Isle, artist collaborators, distributors, stores that supported us and to anyone who put a hand in their pocket and bought a board or tee. We have officially closed the doors of Isle. We also had the pleasure of hosting the closer part in Vase, the inimitable Chris Jones.

And one you've really got to get into, Isle's part in World View: Jacob Harris' video-making skills on full display.

Much to be proud of Paul, Nick Jensen, and all involved. Your brand made a mark and will be remembered forever. The industry needs more meaningful brands like Isle. Thank you all.
