New Balance Numeric just dropped a rad new clip of Tiago Lemos putting his new 808 Lite to work at a skate spot that means a lot to him—Vale.
If you don't skate, it's hard to understand the deep relationship skateboarders can have with random skate spots, but that feeling is universal for many of us. Many of us have that random slab of cement, crusty parking lot or local park that we spent hours at growing up, and for Tiago, it was Vale. Take a look:
"I love Vale. I practically grew up skateboarding here," Tiago mentions. "If I had no place to stay, sometimes I slept on the street just so I could be here skateboarding in Vale with my friends."
I love when things come full circle like this. Hearing Tiago talk about sleeping on the streets and looking at where he is now is pretty inspiring, to say the least. He's come a long way and he ain't slowing down anytime soon. In fact, it seems to me like he's only getting stronger and stronger every day.
It seems like people have been super stoked on Tiago's reimagined New Balance Numeric 808 Lite. "We’ve reduced the overall weight, increased the flexibility and improved the fit," NB# mentioned on Instagram. "Still the same durability and protection that Tiago loves, simplified and refined for his personal preference."
Look for 'em at your local shop. And hey, go skate your favorite childhood spot this weekend. Your skateboard will thank you.
