Baker recently dropped a special board for the collectors, the diehards, and anyone who grew up rewinding The End on VHS in the 90s—a re-issue of Andrew Reynolds’ very first pro model board from Birdhouse dating back to the golden year of 1996. The nostalgia is real.
He wasn't The Boss quite yet, but this board undeniably helped mark the beginning of Reynolds’ long, fruitful career that we've all seen unfold over the past few decades. It's oozing with the playfulness of the mid-90s, and is bound to shoot some of you back to simpler times. And the top graphic—a classic photo of Reynolds shot by the one and only Tony Hawk—is simply just the icing on the cake. Take a look:
Thanks to Baker, you don’t have to track one down on eBay or pay a small fortune for a wall-hanger (well, I mean, unless you want a true original... but whatever). The point is, the re-issue is hitting skateshops now. Add it to your collection or slap some grip on it and skate it like Reynolds would want you to.
If anything, let this be an excuse to throw on The End and revisit the classic Birdhouse film.
Reynolds’ influence hasn’t slowed down one bit, which is actually pretty incredible. He continues to "put the capital B in 'The Boss'" and always will.
