Inspired by the classic Lotería card game, longtime RVCA rider Kevin “Spanky” Long put his own creative spin on the artwork for his new Dayshift apparel collection with the brand and talks about the creative process behind the project in the edit below.
This might be one of his coolest collections yet, if you ask me. Tees, button-ups, jackets, hats, shorts—it's all there. Peep the video and let's talk gear.
It's rad hearing him explain how skateboarding has opened so many doors to new creative outlets—whether that’s art, design, or the way he simply just puts things together visually. But if you ask me, my favorite part about this drop is how personal it feels. It’s not just another random collab, you know? It seems like they gave Spanky full creative power, and I'd say it paid off.
Plus, let's be real—Lotería is super fun. I play it every Christmas.
Honestly, Spanky has been on fire with his artwork the last few years. For one—and as many of you probably already know—he's holding down a full time gig at Baker as their art director. Spitfire recently dropped some wheels with his artwork (see the post above, they're super rad), and as we see, he's no stranger to crafting up some proper apparel items all the same.
Spanky’s always had an eye for design, but this project shows how far he’s come as both a skater and a creative. Love to see it.
We’ve said it before, but Spanky always delivers. This new RVCA collection is proof. Look for the gear at your local shop or peep the full collection on rvca.com.
