In the latest installment of Roark's "Explorations of Sight and Sound" series, we follow Jamie Thomas as he skates through the streets of Cagliari—the capital (and largest city) of the island of Sardinia. The clip might be short and sweet, but it's packed with scenic views, artsy B-Roll, rad skating and the sweet sounds of Matt Costa all throughout. Take a look:

"Meeting locals and other traveling skateboarders in the plazas and surrounding areas of Cagliari was a highlight," says Matt Costa, ripping skater, musician and the mind behind the series. "Music and camaraderie filled the back alleys. Here’s a snapshot on 16mm captured with my friend @davehomcy."

Digging a little deeper into what this series actually represents, Matt Costa tells us:

"Explorations of Sight and Sound has developed over years of documenting travel through the lens of music. This is a 16mm portal encountering new people and having enlightening experiences that have broadened my perspective as a human. It's adventure, it's music, it's life."

As a skateboarder, you just never really know where that silly little wooden toy has the opportunity to take you. Apparently, sometimes it might even be a beautiful island in the Mediterranean! Well into his forties, seeing The Chief still hitting the streets, battling tricks and securing clips is a sight to see. He's keeping the dream alive and I'm here for it.

My only complaint—why couldn't this be a little longer!? Otherwise, I really enjoyed this and it certainly sparked the travel bug inside of me. I've never even heard of Cagliari! But hey, we learn something new every day, right? Thanks, dudes! Skateboarding in paradise will never get old.

Oh, and don’t miss the music inspired by the trip, created by Matt Costa. Give it a listen here.
