The Nike SB Dunk 'Verdugo Mountain' has started popping up at EU and UK shops, while the US release—originally set for September 26—sounds like it might be dropping a bit later.
Bordeaux's Riot Skateshop got theirs, though! Swipe through the post below for a closer look. These things are rad and actually have a pretty unique story behind the design.
“The Verdugo Mountain Dunks color is inspired by a Crust Bikes Romanceur color, which the SB design team uses to ride through the Verdugo Mountains,” our friends at @nikesbornothing mentioned back in August.
And we're stoked to hear more of that story unfold as the kicks start to hit local shops in the States. Regardless, that's a super clean green, and the grey swoosh is spot on.
"US release was scheduled for Sept 26 but it appears they’re running late and probably won’t make it before the release date," @nikesbornothing mentioned on Instagram (if you're a Dunk fiend and aren't following that account—no you aren't). So I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but for now, your favorite EU/UK shops should start getting them.
It sort of goes without saying at this point, but given Nike SB’s track record of Dunks flying off shelves, you can bet these won’t sit long once they hit US shops, either.
Whether you’re into the random (yet… fitting) bike connection or just want a fresh pair of Dunks with a subtle twist to add to your quiver, the Verdugo Mountain colorway is worth keeping on your radar. Hit your local and get the scoop! And again, we’ll post more as we know more.
