The folks at Public Skateshop in Arnhem, Netherlands, got their hands on the new 13" Slappy Trucks—yes, 13 inches, these are wild—and did a fun little "experiment" to show us just how wide these trucks really are.
It's not often we even see 13" decks (probably because there typically isn't a set of trucks to fit the width of the plank) but maybe that'll start to change? I don't know. But yeah, again, these are absolutely wild. Swipe through below and see for yourself.
"Carrying a wide variety of skateboard hardware has been our top priority," Public mentioned on Instagram. "We already had trucks as small as 6.5”, but we now also have them as big as 13” thanks to the good people at Slappy Trucks."
And in case you don't feel like swiping through the post (I mean, you obviously should), here's the full list to entice you a little more:
1: VX1000 with Century Optics legendary MK1
2: Reynolds “933” in size 42.5
3: Our average sized shipping boxes (all recycled)
4: Toy Machine’s first video “Live!” from 1994!
5: A roll of Jessup griptape
6: Patrick O’Dell’s “Epicly Later’d” book, a must have!
7: Mats Edel’s work “Stoppertje”
8: A MacBook Air
9: The shop’s griptape file
10: And of course the smallest truck we carry, which actually fits in two times exactly!
It can be hard for skateshops to cleverly push products these days (although, 13-inch trucks are bound to turn some heads either way), but Public nailed it with this effort for sure. The VX1000 is probably my favorite.
And while this little slideshow is fun and entertaining, nothing will ever beat rolling into your local shop and seeing something like these trucks in person. Get there!
