Jason Dill is one skateboarder who certainly needs no introduction. From his early days coming up in Huntington Beach to his iconic Alien Workshop days, everything he’s done with FA, and a million other things, the dude seems to always be on the move.
But today, we’re here to talk about one of those million other things—like his brief stint on MTV’s hit reality TV show, The Osbournes.
The show hasn’t been on the air for years, but I did stumble upon its YouTube channel recently—specifically this Dill episode—and it really took me back. I personally loved the show when it was on, and can remember seeing Dill in a few episodes and thinking, what the hell is he doing there? Anyone else? Take a look:
They titled the clip The Time Jason Dill Destroyed The Osbournes' Kitchen and of the few episodes he was on, I remember this one the most. Seeing him so naturally interact with the family, including Ozzy (RIP), was always comical. I mean, this was prime time reality TV, and his “character” did certainly add a layer of humor. In fairness, he really was just being himself.
The quick blurb on YouTube made me laugh, too: "Jack invites his skater friend Jason Dill over to stay, much to Ozzy's dismay." Ha!
I often wonder what he was doing skating-wise around this time. Like, did he film any classic clips before rolling to Ozzy’s house to shoot an episode? Was he even skating at all during this time? It’s pretty funny to think about.
Again, Dill has always seemed to have a million things going on, and this just happened to randomly one of them. LA can be strange like that. But I was stoked to learn the show is putting certain episodes and clips on its YouTube channel—shoot, they've been doing it for a while now! Pure nostalgia nonetheless.
Love him or hate him, Dill has pretty much always done things his own way. And over the years, it’s ended up opening random doors like this. This is the full episode, too. Just FYI. If I were you, I’d carve out some time to watch it. Absolutely classic.
And since we’re here—we miss you, Ozzy. RIP.
