Every edit is for the homies, and working on one is even better when your homies fly all the way around the world to film with you. Austin Greer Smith moved to Melbourne from Seattle two years ago, and started working on this project with Ody Fernandez in December 2023. Like many other skate videos, we weren’t sure how it would grow or how many people would end up being involved with it when we started. Then, in January of 2024, a bunch of Austin’s friends from Seattle flew to Melbourne. Everyone clicked right away. It felt as though the Seattle crew and Melbourne crew had known each other for years. In just one month Max Williams, Benny Fosco, Tyler Horner and William Steenstra had stacked enough footage for their own short edit.

After they left, Austin kept filming with Ody and the other Melbourne homies such as Harley Powell, Oliver Veljanovski, Jake Rowlinson, Blaize Grey, Nnamdi Ekeledo-Smith and Kenji Sakamoto. As time went on, more international homies got involved such as Tarjei Thomassen, Charlie Armstrong, Hippolyte Quesnay, Tenma Takahashi, and Pietro Stopazzola. Throughout the year Ody kept working on his part while all the homies stacked, and before 2024 was over we had stacked about twelve minutes of footage in twelve months. The premiere last week at the infamous venue Revolver in Melbourne was an epic way to round out Austin’s time in Melbourne before moving back to Seattle. Melbourne’s got one of the best skate scenes in the world and it was an honor to work on this project with everyone down under!
