RIDE BYND recently stepped inside the world of Steve Caballero and brought us all along for a tour of Casa de Cab.
As you enter his front door, you’re instantly hit with the realization that this isn’t just a house, it’s basically a full-blown skateboarding museum peppered in with random knick-knacks in every nook and cranny. Seriously, from floor to ceiling, every corner tells a story. Buckle up and dive in:
His insane collection of pre-70s vintage skateboards is a straight-up time capsule of skateboarding's innocent early days. But we're just barely scratching the surface with those. We see original artwork, classic motorcycles, rare collectibles, and all kinds of fascinating little gems from decades of being a skateboarding, punk-rock-playing, motorsports enthusiast.
This house tour couldn’t have come at a better time. Steve Caballero’s new episode of Portraits just dropped on The Platfrm, and the focus is all about life beyond the board. Sure, we all know Cab as a skateboarding legend—but he’s so much more than that.
Again, he's also a musician, artist, collector, motocross enthusiast, mountain biker, motorcycle fiend and so much more. Peep the episode above. So rad.
Anyways, back to the tour—just when you think you've seen it all, we enter his zen-like backyard paradise with a mini ramp, swimming pool, and lots of lounge space. We know the dude is all gas, no brakes (even at 60-years-young), but even legends need some downtime.
For skate nerds, collectors, OGs, Cab fans—all of the above—both his house tour and Portraits episode are a must-watch.
Welcome to Casa de Cab. Please remove your shoes. The mini ramp is out back.
