If you’re not already familiar with Ben Patrick, his new video part for Coda Skateboards is the perfect introduction. Bangers, bangers, bangers and more bangers!
Ben's skating is super original and refreshing—seriously, you'll see. This part sort of came out of nowhere, but with that said, it couldn't have come at a better time. The way he blends his unique, technical skill and his truly creative spot selection makes this part feel genuinely fresh. I don't know what else to say. Settle in and press play.
From start to finish, Ben’s skating carries a certain ease that really only comes with true confidence (and again, a dash of no-nonsense originality). He’s not just trying to secure a clip and move on—the dude is piecing together dope lines, copping wild tricks, and finding unique ways to approach terrain most skaters would simply pass by.
The result? Well, again, we're given a part that’s both stylish and memorable, cementing him as a skater who deserves far more recognition than he gets. In fairness, maybe he wants it that way? Regardless, there are so many things to be stoked about here.
All I know is Ben is a low-key east coast powerhouse, and this edit got me super hyped. The random song. The editing. Of course, the skating. We all love big hammers and technical wizardry, but there's nothing better than seeing skaters simply do what they wanna do when they wanna do it.
Founded in 2003 in Brooklyn, Coda began as a creative outlet for Pat Smith. A way to give back to a sport and community that gives so much.
From the early days, we have always made sure that every possible dollar goes back into skateboarding - through builds, manufacturing, design, and our teams. From DIY spots to branded pop-ups and installs, CODA is for skaters, by skaters.
Years later, we still maintain our core principles: Support community and creativity, completely devoid of business goals.
We make what we want to make. Skate how we want to skate. Build what we want to build, and try to do some good stuff others will enjoy along the way.
