Bucky Lasek and Wade Speyer are officially Skateboarding Hall of Famers—and their ripping induction videos are a powerful reminder as to why they've earned those spots. Whether you grew up watching Bucky redefine vert skating or Wade charging all terrain with that rare intensity we all wish we had, these two legends helped shape entire generations of skateboarding. No debate.
"Bucky Lasek from Baltimore, has been one of the best transition skaters for close to 40 years and he is still innovating and inventing tricks well into his 50's," SHOF mentioned on YouTube. Facts are facts! Peep his induction video below.
"Wade Speyer is one of the best all around skaters ever," SHOF wrote on YouTube. "In the late 1980's all the way until the 2000's he ripped parks, streets, ramps and everything else he skated."
I've always been a fan of Wade Speyer but at the same time, he's always sort of floated under my radar. Not for any particular reason or anything, but I will say this—his energy has always been infectious. Whether in person or through the screen. And he has always given it his all. Fast, aggressive, original. Who else skates spines like Wade? His spot in the SHOF is well-deserved.
This year’s inductees include: Sally Anne Miller, Dale Smith, Titus Dittmann, Mike Ternasky, Jim Gray, George Trafton, Steve Hilton, Dave Hilton, Roy Jamieson, Larry Bertlemann, Darren Ho, Pat Ngoho, Freddie De Sota, Ben Schroeder, Karma Tsocheff, Wade Speyer, Sean Sheffey, Sal Barbier, Bucky Lasek, and Jaime Reyes.
We'll be sharing similar videos from all these icons over the next week or so. What a great year for the SHOF! Keep your eyes peeled for more videos. Congrats to all the inductees!
