Earlier this month, the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team held its annual fundraiser, raising more than $200,000.

Hosted by longtime Alpine Ski Team supporters Karen and John Arnold, the event was attended by more than 40 guests, including U.S. athletes like Breezy Johnson, Lauren Macuga, and Camden Palmquist.

“We don’t always get to say thank you directly, and these events make it possible,” said Palmquist. “It is great to see the backbone of the Stifel U.S. Ski Team and how much belief there is in the athletes. I am beyond grateful for all the support, and I am super excited for this season.”

Despite being the Olympic and Paralympic National Governing Body of ski and snowboard sports across the U.S., U.S. Ski & Snowboard receives no government funding.

Instead, its budget is made up of private donations, corporations, and foundations. These donors, according to U.S. Ski & Snowboard, are essential for the Alpine Ski Team—which is one of the biggest programs the organization oversees—particularly as the upcoming Winter Olympics loom.

Several members of the previously announced Alpine Ski Team for next winter are household names. Mikaela Shiffrin—the winningest ski racer of all time—is part of the A Team. So is Lindsey Vonn, the once-retired superstar who’s mounting a comeback.

Beyond the recent fundraiser, U.S. Ski & Snowboard also renewed a deal with the financial services company Stifel last May, extending the title partnership through 2034.

The company’s support represented a “generational investment,” said President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard Sophie Goldschmidt earlier this year.

It also enabled U.S. Ski & Snowboard to "implement innovative new initiatives that are having a direct impact on the organization. From World Cup podiums to grassroots development, Stifel’s belief in the power of sport and our athletes has been a game-changer,” she added.
