Something big is coming to Deer Valley, Utah, and we’re not just talking about the new skiable terrain and lifts.
Earlier this month, New York-based developer Extell Development Company announced that it had secured a $600 million loan for a Four Seasons Resort and Residences in the new Deer Valley East Village area.
The deal, according to Extell, is believed to involve the largest loan for a hotel and residential condominium construction project in Utah.

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Deer Valley sounds as glitzy as you might expect.
It will offer residences ranging from 1,200 to 7,000 square feet. Fifty-five of those will be located atop the hotel—the other 68 are in a neighboring building. They include direct ski-in/ski-out access. Four planned restaurants will cover the culinary bases.
Guests and homeowners can access the property's range of amenities, including wellness and fitness facilities with saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, and spa services. Homeowners will also be served by a dedicated director of residences tasked with ensuring the Four Seasons hospitality is top-notch.
The list of features at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences continues with trail access, multiple pools, an indoor sports court, and an ice rink. Business meetings and soirees can take advantage of the ballroom, three meeting rooms, and an outdoor event terrace.
Construction on the resort began this past spring and is expected to finish in 2028. As of July 3, nearly 40% of its overall inventory had been sold.
The loan announcement comes as Deer Valley charges ahead with an absurdly large ski terrain and lift expansion that falls under the aptly named banner, "Expanded Excellence."
When the project is complete, the ski resort will offer about 5,726 acres of skiable terrain, making it one of the largest ski resorts on the continent.
This coming season, Expanded Excellence will take a significant step forward with the addition of seven new chairlifts and 80 ski trails.
