Skiing's king of the annual solo film, has started to tease a new film that's apparently dropping this fall.
That's right, the one and only Sammy Carlson has shared the first screenshots from his upcoming film with the world. The images showcase some burly Alaskan lines.
The last few years, Carlson has graced us with footage from Alaska trips in films like Kamase and MSP's Land of Giants. Another post to Carlson's Instagram from April tells us that the Revelstoke-based skier scored on a trip with heli-operation Black Ops Valdez this spring, which was also where he filmed Grown, his 2024 film.

"Grateful to be back home safe & sound after another unforgettable trip with @blackopsvaldez The boys Scored again! The mountains opened up for us and we took full advantage of the opportunity! Forever grateful for the experience. Thanks to the boys, all my sponsors & the Black ops Fam. Without a doubt my most enjoyable trip to Alaska," read Carlson's post.
This Fall marks the 20-year anniversary of Carlson's first-ever film segment in Poor Boyz Productions' 2005 film War. It only makes sense that he would release something special to mark the occasion.
A career as long and successful as his is pretty unique, and it seems that year by year, Carlson keeps finding his flow and unlocking new ways to be creative in the mountains. Theses first screenshots make it seem like we'll get to see AK spines with style influenced by his X-Games days.
The combination of Carlson's slopestyle skills, and his comfort in the biggest terrain, are part of what make him such an entertaining skier to watch.
Carlson also tagged a handful of folks in his post including snowboarders Travis Rice, Werni Stock, and Miles Falcon as well as photographer Chad Chomlack and FPV pilot Gabriel Kocher, both of whom shot NST Ski.
Rice, Stock, and Falcon all share Carlson's outerwear sponsorship with Quiksilver, so there's a safe bet that we could see some amazing footage of all four of them in Carlson's project, or otherwise with Quiksilver.
Check out the embedded Instagram post below to see the first screenshots from Sammy Carlson's 2025 project.
Previous evidence shows that whatever Sammy is cooking up will probably be epic, and have a fantastic soundtrack.
We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more teasers from Carlson, and especially for whatever cinematic skiing magic he's releasing this fall.
