California's Largest Ski Resort To Remain Open Through Memorial Day

Palisades Tahoe, CA, is in for a big storm right now: as much as 35 inches coming down on Friday, 28 inches predicted to fall Saturday, 15 inches on Sunday, and 3 more to top things off Monday.

This will add to the 106 inch base on the upper mountain, making for a solid layer of snow for future powder to stack up on going into March.

Palisades Tahoe, the self-proclaimed Spring Skiing Capital of the World, just announced that "thanks to over 8 FEET of snow in February, and much more over the upcoming week - we’re planning to ski and ride through Memorial Day, weather and conditions permitting. That’s 3 more months of skiing!"

Palisades Tahoe claims to have the longest season in Tahoe, and we have really bounced back from a dry start.

In November and December, locals were thinking this season would be a repeat of the 2020-2021 season, where November saw 38 inches, and December saw 45, for a grand total of 281 inches of snowfall all season.

This season, we are already at 225 inches (mid-mountain) and with the storm on the way, we could easily hit 300 inches by mid-March, and we could even end this season above average (which is 400 inches) if March continues to deliver.
