Frenchman Candide Thovex has long-since established himself as one of the best skiers in the world.

Like Mother Nature surprising skiers with an unexpected powder day, Thovex remerges on the internet at random to drop a new edit. Today, February 12, 2024, was 'One Of Those Days'. See below.

We don't talk enough about what Candide doesn't do when he's skiing. There are other skiers that could hit the same features, but none of them can do it with as much style and grace.

Candide floats through the air as if he's just been ejected from the International Space Station into outer space.

Rather than flailing his arms or wiggling to retain balance (like any normal human who has just launched themselves more than one hundred feet through the air), Thovex simply glides through time and space as if the laws of friction and gravity don't apply.

Then, just when you think there could be a rough landing on the other side of the massive knoll, Thovex gently rests his skis on the snow and speeds away without any emotion. As viewers, we're left with only mere milliseconds until the next jaw-dropping clip begins to play.

That's one of the many factors that makes a Candide video drop so exciting. They're stocked with so much other-worldly skiing that we have to watch each video more than once.

In a world driven by the insatiable desire for more content, Candide's strategy of randomly releasing short edits challenges the norm. In a sense, he's this generation of skiers' version of 'appointment television'.

When Candide drops a video, we watch. Simple as that. I can't wait for the next one.
