It's been a busy week for reporting on chairlift incidents.

According to an image shared on the Mount Bohemia Family private Facebook group, a chair fell from the ski area's double chair on February 7, 2025. The Riblet Double has been operating at Mount Bohemia since 2001, according to LiftBlog.

Conor S., who uploaded the photo, provided a few details about what allegedly happened after the incident: "People sat on lift for like 20 min and then they ran the lift very slowly to get people off."

Conor also confirmed that nobody was riding the chair when it fell: "(The chair) fell off the pole that is right after the unloading station."

For context, the Bohemia double chair is designed so that skiers unload before the end of the line. Chairs continue for about a hundred feet before they turn around and head back downhill.

A representative from Mount Bohemia provided more details on the incident and confirmed that nobody was injured in an email to POWDER. The incident allegedly occurred due to a "bad unload" of snowboarders that caused the chair to swing and hit a lift tower.

The lift was unloaded safely, and all grips were checked afterwards, according to the Mount Bohemia representative. "The chair in question will be fully X-rayed before put back in use," the message ends.

POWDER will continue to update this story.
