Figuring out where to mount your skis can be tough business. A small adjustment of a centimeter or two can make a huge difference in how a ski feels, especially on one that's been designed to ski a particular way, like Chris Benchetler's Atomic pro model, the Bent Chetler 120. With the official release of the new skis, Benchetler shared some insight into where he prefers to mount his skis, and surprisingly it might not be where you think.
For someone so well-versed in freestyle skiing, it comes as a bit of a surprise that he chooses to mount the new Bent Chetler 120 a bit behind the near-true-center factory mark. He says that, for him, the perfect spot is -1.5cm from the line. For the Bent 110, he goes with factory. For the Bent 100, Bent 90, and Bent 85 he adjusts the mount point depending on what he's doing with the skis, sharing that he prefers -2.5cm from true center for park skiing, and the factory mark for directional carving and backcountry couloirs.
Atomic's 2024-2025 collection is available now, including the all-new Bent Chetler 120 featuring Chris Benchetler's topsheet art.
