I'm not a fan of rampant consumerism, but sometimes there's deals that are too good to pass up–like when some of our favorite ski bindings are on sale for 30 percent off. EVO is currently getting rid of their stock of Look Pivot 15s (the old version) for $299.99, so stock up! The Pivot 12 and Pivot 14 are also on sale for $229 and $259, respectively. But why not shell out a few extra bucks for the real-deal binding?
While the Look Pivots were updated last year with a new heel assembly, some hilarious launch videos, and some fun new colors, the older version long stood the test of time as a fan-favorite freestyle and freeride binding. I know plenty of skiers who wouldn't be caught dead skiing anything else. The pairs I've owned have outlasted the several pairs of skis they've all been mounted on, and I plan on using them for years to come.
What's so great, you might ask? The signature rotating heel unit and 3D-rotating toe unit allows for industry-leading amounts of elastic travel (meaning fewer pre-releases), a low stand height, and an extremely short mounting platform (allowing your ski to flex more naturally, especially behind the heel).
There's a good reason it's a favorite among hard-charging resort skiers, professional athletes, the binding of choice for the CAST Freetour conversion, and the canvas for Mike Swim of Crasheur Customs.
