If you’re a staunch supporter of independent ski areas and don’t mind paying extra for a vanity license plate, we’ve got a deal for you.

The Indy Pass—the multi-pass alternative that, as its name suggests, focuses on independent ski areas—will give a free Indy+ Pass to those who rep the pass program on their license plate with messages like “Ski Indy” or “Indypas.”

“All devotees of the Indy Revolution are encouraged to apply for the club,” reads a blurb on the Indy Pass website. Keep reading for the rules on how to get a free Indy Pass next season as part of the program.

The rules are simple. A complimentary Indy+ Pass will be provided for each season the plate is active.

To apply, get a license plate that references the Indy Pass, and put an Indy Pass sticker near the license plate on the back of your car. Then, post a photo of your plate in the Indy Passholder Group on Facebook or email the photo to info@indyskipass.com.

You can also email info@indyskipass.com to confirm that your chosen license plate phrase qualifies for the deal before committing.

The Indy+ Pass is the highest-tier Indy Pass product, providing two days of access to numerous participating ski areas around the world with no blackout dates. The third day at any given ski area comes with a 25% discount. The pass also includes perks like lodging and travel package discounts.

As the Indy+ Pass is, for the time being, sold out, the license plate deal presents a unique workaround. Click here for more information and the exact rules of participation.

If the deal goes according to plan, don’t be surprised if you see more Indy Pass-inspired license plates this coming winter—people, skiers especially, love free stuff.

The deal isn’t the only skiing promo that involves license plates. Last winter, the Plates for Powder program gave out a free lift ticket to skiers so they could visit one of 12 participating Lake Tahoe, California, downhill or cross country ski areas.

But an entire pass? That’s even sweeter.
