As if she hadn't had an exciting enough year already, freeskier Eileen Gu checked "walk at her college graduation" off her 2026 bingo card this weekend.

The 22-year-old has been attending the prestigious Stanford University since 2022, when she enrolled following the Beijing Olympics.

Gu was born and raised in the Bay Area of California, not too far from Stanford's campus. Her mother received an MBA from the university's Graduate School of Business in 1994.

According to the Stanford Report, Gu scored a whopping 1580 on the SAT, was accepted to Stanford on early decision, and declared a major in International Relations. Gu also joined a sorority on campus, and shared photos alongside her sorority sisters at graduation.

Check out Gu's graduation photos below.

Alongside walking at her university commencement, Gu also competed in the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics and won two silver medals, making her the most decorated Olympic freeskier of all time.

Following the Olympics, Gu won the World Championship and overall titles at the Snow League, attended the Met Gala, and has appeared on the covers of Vogue China, Harper's Bazaar Hong Kong, and TIME Magazine this year. Just a week before her graduation, Gu also attended the Monaco F1 race alongside other Red Bull athletes.

Gu was joined at both the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics and the Snow League World Championships by Stanford classmate Zoe Atkin. Gu and Atkin went head-to-head in the LAAX halfpipe this spring during the finals round of the Snow League, although they reportedly never ran into each other on campus. Atkin took time off from school this past year in order to prepare for the Olympic Games.

Stanford's commencement ceremony took place on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The school welcomed Google CEO Sundar Pichai as the keynote speaker, prompting around 200 students to walk out in protest of Google's political alignments as he took the stage.

Stanford's schools hold their own ceremonies, where each graduate is honored alongside the school-wide commencement.
