Why change a good thing when it works so damn well? That seems to be the theme for Faction's 2025/26 ski collection, which instead of being chock-full of fresh products is mostly a story of continuing to produce some of our favorite freeride and freestyle skis ever made, with the notable addition of a carving ski, of all things. Have we reached a point in ski design where there's diminishing returns in investing in new technology? Probably not, but it's cool to see the brand's commitment to making products that work for skiers.
It's no secret that the outdoor industry–and skiing in particular–isn't doing so hot financially these days, with brands cutting budgets to focus on riding out this current wave of economic uncertainty. That means less money towards innovation (and new ski models), and a focus on efficiency and producing what they can.
All that is to say that Faction dropped their 2025/26 skis today, and while it's always exciting to drool over that new new, we're stoked to see the return of favorites like the La Machine, Dancer, Studio, Prodigy, and Agent series. Many of these skis have been daily drivers in my personal ski quiver, whether it's for missions deep into the backcountry or chasing my friends around the resort.
The only new ski in next year's line is, of all things,a 79mm-waisted carving ski. Before all your park rats and freeride aficionados get your knickers in a twist, the Dancer 79 is an absolute on-piste weapon that should quickly be a favorite among Faction loyalists looking for a groomer-only ski. It takes the power of the big-mountain freeride Dancer series and shrinks it into a high speed, short turn radius racecar for putting your hip to the ground on groomers.
Otherwise, the freestyle Studio and Prodigy series, the directional freeride Dancer, and the touring-specific La Machine and Agent series get new topsheet art.
