The People's Choice Awards voting for Jackson Hole's Kings and Queens of Corbet's Couloir has closed, and the people have spoken.
As always, the Kings & Queens roster was chock-full of talent with athletes launching the biggest tricks into the famous couloir. Kings and Queens has a unique format in which the athlete field decides the winners.
Last year, along with an overall King and Queen title, they also added prize money for the top athletes in the men's and women's ski and snowboard fields, specifically.
The People's Choice Award stands out from the overall title because it's voted on by the public. The People's Choice often goes to some of the most memorable athletes of the day, or the ones who throw the biggest hucks, even without a stomped landing.
Announced yesterday, March 10, Piper Kunst and Kelly Hilleke have officially been awarded the 2026 Kings and Queens of Corbet's Couloir People's Choice Awards. Check out their winning runs below.
This year, the people agreed with the athletes that Alta skier Piper Kunst, who also won her second Queen of Corbet's crown, was their favorite female rider of the day.
Kunst became the second woman to ever land a backflip into Corbet's at the top of her first run, before she hucked a massive front flip on the bottom jump. Kunst over rotated her front flip a bit and crashed on the landing, but still went up for a second run that showed off her technical skills and the good conditions in the Couloir on comp day.
In the men's field, Aspen, Colorado-based Kelly Hilleke (of the legendary whitewater paddling Hilleke family), snagged the People's Choice award with a clean double backflip into the Couloir and a super creative front flip to Barani flip at the bottom.
Hilleke's run earned him second place in the overall competition, behind Tristen Lilly, but clearly first place in the public's mind.
Hilleke has been competing on the FWT this season and competed in the Freeride World Championships as well. However, just after Kings and Queens, the FWT posted to say that Hilleke was out for the season with a torn ACL and meniscus. Hilleke hasn't posted any further updates.
