I’m immensely pleased to report that the content machine has started to kick into overdrive with winter's approach fully underway.

But content might not be the right word. Each of these clips—they’re really videos—is worth directing your full attention towards. This isn’t quick-hit stuff you look at for a millisecond and forget about immediately. Here’s some actual ski video immersion to spice up your weekend.

Moonwalking With Shane McFalls

Shane McFalls is back with another special bit of ski videography. In the cacophony that is digital media, it’s tough to find something that feels different and cuts through the noise. McFalls accomplishes that feat handily with Space Junk, a short shot on 16mm that features a varied cast of talent. I highly recommend you put this one on a bigger screen than your phone, pour yourself a drink, and take a proper beat. It’s good to get lost once in a while.

Marcus Goguen's Off-Season Hustle

This one goes out to all the mountain bikers out there. As skiers, we know Marcus Goguen as the young freeride phenom who’s quickly shot to legend status via his jaw-dropping FWT runs. But when the snow melts, Goguen continues to get after it, ripping trails (sorry, bikers, if that’s a ridiculous way to describe your sport) throughout British Columbia. Admittedly, I have no idea what constitutes pro-level riding on a mountain bike—the last time I tried it, I did a front flip. Unintentionally.—but it looks like Goguen more than knows his way around his rig. His competition résumé backs up that sentiment—his noteworthy mountain bike finishes include a Junior Crankworx Whistler Air DH win and a top five at a U21 Enduro World Cup. Apparently, some people were born to be really, really good at everything.

The Jossi Wells Invitational—Explained

Over the past few days, we’ve been treated to some truly mind-altering clips from the Jossi Wells Invitational (JWI). While stellar, those clips leave a lingering question: what the heck is JWI? This video from North Face answers that question and serves up some banger footage.

TGR Goes Behind the Scenes

A heck of a lot happens during feature-length ski movies. Backflips, near crashes, avalanches—but providing the backstory for all these moments wouldn’t be possible while maintaining a reasonable runtime. So, to give us a closer look into the on-screen action featured in Beyond the Fantasy (touring this fall!), Teton Gravity Research has dropped a short that details Colter Hinchliffe’s near miss in Austria, which involved an enormous slide. When you’re filming a ski movie, it’s not all sunshine and roses, folks.

K2's Serves Servus

Servus sounds like something Harry Potter would say while battling for the future of Hogwarts with Voldemort, but, in this case, it refers to a short edit featuring K2’s stacked crew of athletes as they shred in Innsbruck, Austria. I wasn't a big Harry Potter guy, so I prefer the latter, and will always be a sucker for a good old-fashioned park edit. This one delivers.
