United States skier Lindsey Vonn has had one of the most decorated careers in the history of the sport. She has won three Olympic medals, one gold medal, which she took home in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics downhill event and two bronze medals, one in 2010 and another in 2018.
The 41-year-old skier decided to make her return for the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics in the women's downhill event, hoping to win her fourth medal at the Games. However, her run came to an unceremonious end, as she suffered a frightening crash on Feb. 8, resulting in a broken leg.
This was Vonn's second tragic mishap within two weeks, as she suffered a ruptured ACL, meniscus damage and serious bone bruising on Jan. 30. Despite this, she competed in the Olympics, which ended in her being airlifted from the course for a second time in nine days.
Since the Olympic crash, Vonn has documented her recovery and rehab efforts on her social media, keeping her family, friends and millions of fans updated.
On Wednesday, she shared some more unfortunate news, as she posted on her Instagram story a video of her sister, Karin Kildow, walking around on crutches with a brace on her knee. Vonn was lying down with a wrap on her own knee in the video.

Welcome to the Vonn rehab center ," Vonn said.
The news that Kildow suffered a torn ACL just weeks after Vonn's consecutive scary crashes adds another layer to the ever-growing story of the three-time Olympic medalist's career and personal life.
