All good things must come to an end. Now we know when exactly Mammoth Mountain, California, plans to wrap up its ski season: June 15, 2025.
The ski resort confirmed its closing date in a short social media update.

The closing day celebrations will include free coffee and donuts (while supplies last) at McCoy Station at 7:30 a.m., followed by a group photo and last run at 1:15 p.m. at The Summit.
From now until June 15, Mammoth Mountain plans to spin its chairlifts from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily. The ski resort’s bike park opened on May 23, so multi-sport athletes can, if they have the energy, participate in the illusive ski-to-bike twofer. Golfers can tee off at the Sierra Star Golf Course, too.
Today, Mammoth Mountain operated four lifts: Broadway Express, Stump Alley Express, Face Lift Express, and Chair 23. The Panorama Gondola, which deposits skiers on Mammoth Mountain’s upper ridge, is now closed for annual maintenance.
In the North American ski landscape, Mammoth Mountain is, among other things, known for offering spring and summer turns during a phase it’s coined the “Second Season.”
Not every season involves summer skiing at the ski resort, though, so locals—and prospective visitors—are presumably stoked about riding the lifts until mid-June.
Last winter, Mammoth Mountain closed several weeks earlier on May 27. But the winter prior, in 2023, it stayed open until a staggering August 6, thanks to record snowfall.
Mammoth Mountain among the few places on the continent where skiers can still notch lift-accessed turns. Arapahoe Basin, Colorado—another strong late-season contender—previously announced a tentative closing date of June 8.
Meanwhile, in Arizona, Arizona Snowbowl is gearing up for its final weekend of skiing, held on May 31 and June 1.
If hustling to make a rapidly closing date isn’t your thing, there’s always Timberline Lodge, Oregon, which, season after season, remains open late into the summer.
