On December 16, 2025, Mikaela Shiffrin won yet another World Cup slalom race.
The race, which took place in Courchevel, France, marked Shiffrin's fourth consecutive victory of the season in the slalom discipline, and fifth consecutive win with last season's final race factored in. Shiffrin's victory run also marks a record-extending 105th World Cup victory and 68th win in slalom.
Earlier this week, Shiffrin took a DNF in St. Mortiz in super-G, which was her first time racing that particular discipline since 2023. Clearly, the DNF didn't set her back, and Shriffin clocked the fastest splits of every race segment during Run 1. Camille Rast (SUI) came in second behind Shiffrin (+1.55) with her second podium of the season, and Emma Aicher (GER) rounded out the podium in third (+1.71). The USA's Paula Moltzan came in fourth (+1.82), which also propelled her into fifth place overall.

Shiffrin finished her Courchevel race 1.55 seconds ahead of the second-place racer, which is nearly her largest margin of the season. In Levi, Finland, Shiffrin finished 1.66 seconds ahead of 2nd place, 1.23 seconds ahead in Gurgl, Austria, and 1.57 seconds ahead at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
With her latest margin added in, this means that Shiffrin is finishing 1.5025 seconds ahead of the next racer on average. In a sport that's often decided by hundreds of a second, Shiffrin's dominant wins, which have all been greater than a second, speak volumes.
As the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics loom just under two months away, Shiffrin is looking for redemption from the 2022 Beijing Winter Games, where she competed in seven events without a single medal. At the upcoming Winter Games, Shiffrin is planning to focus on slalom and giant slalom, which are her two best events, as well as team combined.
