Last weekend in Gurgl, Austria, Mikaela Shiffrin won her 99th alpine race while competing in slalom. The finish over Albania’s Lara Colturi means that Shiffrin, already the world’s winningest ski racer, has the opportunity to net her 100th career win this weekend in Killington, Vermont.
Or, more precisely, she has two opportunities to net her 100th career win.
During the Stifel Killington Cup, there will be a giant slalom and slalom event. Shiffrin has an impressive Killington track record in slalom that could bode well for her coming performance. The American racer has won six of the seven slalom events at Killington.
Still, she isn’t trying to overthink her prospective 100th win.
“I guess there’s a bit of pressure around it, but I’ll try to ignore that,” Shiffrin told NBC Sports. “If it happens, it’s wonderful. If it doesn’t happen, nothing to cry about in the grand scheme. I hope to have a really good performance in front of the home crowd.”
Whether Shiffrin is victorious or not, the upcoming Stifel Killington Cup marks the World Cup’s return to American soil for the first time this season. At the event, the world’s best racers will jostle for top marks as an excited—and loud—local crowd watches on.
Here’s how you can see the perhaps historical action yourself.
At Killington, the women’s giant slalom starts at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on November 30, 2024. The first runs of the day will be available for free to watch live on Outside TV. The second runs of the day, which start at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time, are also available to watch live on Outside TV, as well as NBC and Peacock.
Slalom starts at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on December 1st. Again, Outside TV will provide live coverage of the first runs of the day. The second runs of the day, which start at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, will also be shown on Outside TV, NBC, and Peacock.
For future races in the U.S., Outside TV will continue to provide free domestic coverage. All international races—excluding those held in Austria—are available on skiandsnowboard.live. Austrian events will be covered live by Peacock.
If that all sounds confusing, you’re right; it is. Sorry. Whoever manages to get the entire World Cup calendar live in one place deserves a gold star. In the meantime, U.S. Ski & Snowboard has a handy guide you can reference for specific races.
