The resort's expansion plan, which has been in the works for over a decade, has been dreamt up by locals of the community in efforts to stay true to the mountain's independent roots.
Due to an increased demand for outdoor recreation, the mountain seeks to grow to accommodate more guests without compromising the experience of skiing an independent resort. With contributions from ski patrollers, local families, and business owners, the expansion seeks to reflect the community's values and strengthen the mountain's legacy.
Mission Ridge has also prioritized environmental stewardship in the expansion by putting extensive research into preserving local wildlife corridors and maintaining water quality.
Alongside an improved skier experience, the expansion will also have extensive benefits for the local economy. The resort anticipates the creation of more than 200 new jobs over the next ten years, increased tax revenue to support schools, roads, and services in Chelan County, and a potential multi-million dollar increase in economic output.
Since 2023, Mission Ridge has been working with local agencies to advance the project towards any approvals necessary. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement is expected to be released in 2025 for public comment.
