Monarch Mountain, Colorado isn't the state's most popular ski resort, but the down-home feel, all-natural snowfall, and expansive terrain solidify it as a diamond in the rough.

The mountain has been touting its exciting 377-acre ski terrain expansion since it broke ground on the project last year. Today, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Monarch published the first trail map for the new zone.

Take a look at the new trail map below. Keep reading for more information about the exciting No Name Basin expansion at Monarch.

According to Monarch, the No Name Basin expansion will feature a 1,000 feet of vertical drop, a respectable size.

A new lift, which we now know will be called Tomichi thanks to the trail map release, will be a Skytrac three-person fixed-grip lift that runs the full 1,000 vertical feet. Skiers will be able to access No Name Basin by riding the Breezeway and Panorama lifts.

Now that the No Name Basin trail map is released, we know that the following 12 runs have been cut and named. They are as follows:

No Name Basin Blue Square Runs: Wapiti, Bonanza, Ambush, Eureka, Snowblind, Riches, Mule Train, Prospector

No Name Basin Black Diamond Runs: Sunset Glades, Buckhorn, White Pine, and North Star Glades

While the majority of the No Name Basin terrain is best served for intermediates, Monarch anticipates that experts will enjoy the news runs as well. More opportunities to slash through powder-filled glades is a good thing, right?

Monarch intends to open the No Name Basin expansion during the Winter 25/26 season once conditions allow. Stay tuned for more info about tis exciting expansion right here at POWDER.
