In its first season of operation, the first two levels of the new garage that consolidated parking at Park City’s Canyons Village were free for skiers and snowboarders.

Next winter, though, when the five-story structure is set to open fully, those guests will need to pay $29 if they plan to park there before 12 p.m.

Park City Mountain Resort, Utah, shared the news in a brief blurb on its website, describing the Canyons Village parking plan for the 2026-27 season that also outlined the way skiers can avoid paying.

Limited parking will remain free on a first-come, first-served basis in the surface lot adjacent to the garage. Carpoolers with four or more passengers can park for free, subject to available space. Employees will have free designated slots.

The resort also plans to sell a winter parking pass with garage access, but didn’t share the price.

More details about Park City’s parking plans across both its base areas—the Canyons and Mountain Villages—will come later this summer. The latest announcement didn’t confirm or deny parking reservations for the garage.

While some free parking options remain, The Salt Lake Tribune reported that the arrival of paid parking at the new garage eliminates most of them in Park City.

Paid parking and reservation systems have become more common at ski resorts across the West, which often say those systems help curtail traffic and improve the arrival experience.

Park City shared that sentiment in describing its plan for Canyons Village.

“Building on insights from successful parking programs at Mountain Village, learnings from across the industry, and guest feedback, our approach is designed to improve arrival flow, reduce congestion in the surrounding area, and create a smoother and more sustainable parking and transportation experience,” the resort wrote.

The new garage figures into the future of the now-decommissioned Cabriolet Lift, which connected parking to the resort. In its stead, Park City is installing a ten-person gondola.
