Stegosaurus Nunchucks? The Weird Items Left Behind at Ski Areas in the Spring

We could speculate, probably for hours, about what the plan was with those little stegosauruses. A prehistoric ninja? A dinosaur ninja? Realistically, though, they were probably tied together by a kid as some kind of toy, later slipping out of a pair of ski pants at the wrong time.

The same can’t be true about an enormous can of crushed tomatoes (and an onion) the Hunter Mountain crew picked up. That belongs in a commercial kitchen, not on a chairlift. 

Of all the things you could haul onto the slopes, a weighty can of tomatoes should be low on the list, unless, that is, you can’t survive eight hours without whipping up a batch of your grandmother’s famous pasta (understandable, to be honest). It’s possible that the full bottle of wine that also appeared may have, at one point, accompanied the tomatoes.

Then, there’s the inevitable Fireball. A clear favorite among skiers and snowboarders everywhere, the cinnamon whiskey shooters made up a big chunk of Hunter Mountain’s findings, alongside old vapes. The same is often true at other ski resort post-season clean-ups.

Now, we aren’t ones to yuck anyone’s yum, but trash cans were invented for a reason, as were bars. Pack out the drinks and vapes (and tomatoes), people. The stegosaurus nunchucks look like more fun, anyway. 

What Hunter Mountain didn’t find this year, however, was a “meatloaf wrapper.” After a fruitless Google search and a few moments of reflection, we've decided not to ask any follow-up questions.
