The golf course clubhouse and attached Hogan’s Pub at Sugarbush, Vermont, were irreparably damaged in a fire on Wednesday night.

Sugarbush, in a social media post, said that firefighters responded to the blaze around 10:30 p.m. The resort thanked the Warren, Waitsfield, and Fayston fire departments for their “hard work and professionalism,” noting that no one was injured in the fire.

"We had the initial [fire] knocked down probably in about the first 35 minutes. And then still doing the hot spots and everything else with it being an older building," first assistant chief Chad Koenig said, according toWPTZ.

The course is about a mile and a half from the resort’s ski lifts. Tap the embedded post below to see the aftermath of the fire.

Later, Sugarbush shared that despite the fire, its golf course and golf carts remained intact. WCAX reported that several mementos were recovered, too, including restaurant tables, a Happy Gilmore replica putter, and a portrait with quotes from the golf course’s designer.

The golf course was closed on Thursday and will remain closed on Friday; however, Sugarbush plans to reopen it on Saturday, offering limited food and beverage options.

Those with immediate questions about tee times can contact the resort at golfclub@sugarbush.com or by calling 802-583-6300.

Beyond the reopening this weekend, Sugarbush didn’t have any more information to share about the golf course’s operations. The resort did say, however, that it will provide updates as plans come together, adding that a stretch of good weather is on the way, with recent rain likely making the foliage pop.

“If you're a fan, come on out. The golf is still going to be great,” Sugarbush wrote.

Local news outlets reported that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Meanwhile, Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak is scheduled to welcome the first skiers and snowboarders of the season on Saturday, November 22, 2025, conditions permitting.

Last winter, Sugarbush delayed its opening until December 4 because it needed a few more days to make snow.
