The Freeride World Tour’s grand finale is back.
Organizers for the event confirmed that on Saturday, March 28, 2026, skiers will face off on the towering Bec des Rosses, a peak on the slopes of Verbier, Switzerland, as is tradition, for the last competition of the year.
You can tune in on the Freeride World Tour’s website for free. Check out the start times based on your time zone below.
“Riders must navigate a complex mix of tight couloirs, exposed ridgelines, and massive cliffs, carefully selecting lines that blend technical precision with freestyle progression,” a news release reads. “At this level, only those who execute flawlessly under pressure will stand atop the podium.”
The Bec is, indeed, considered one of the toughest and most technical venues on the Tour. It’s wickedly steep and peppered with zones where falling really isn’t an option.
In past competitions, though, competitors have stepped up. Marcus Goguen’s wild double stager in Verbier from 2024 stands out.
After the Xtreme Verbier, the Freeride World Tour will crown the overall season winners. This season, across the men’s and women’s categories, it’s a tight race.
Sybille Blanjean is the women’s overall leader, holding a 4,000-point lead over the runner-up, Lou Barin.
Blanjean’s fresh off a big win at the first Freeride World Tour finals stop in Alaska. That day, she laced her run, showing composure on the kinds of terrain she’ll encounter in Verbier. Her last win at Xtreme Verbier came in 2022.
Even with Blanjean’s title, though, every other woman in the finals field could become the overall champion, depending on how the results shake out. The competition is wide open, meaning crashes could shake up the final standings considerably.
Toby Rafford leads the men. He placed third overall last season when he was a rookie, and is slotted into the top spot after recently taking first in Alaska.
Ben Richards trails Rafford narrowly by 800 points, making the two skiers the ones among the men to watch closest in Verbier. Ross Tester, who’s third overall, could take the title, too, if he finishes first.
