The time has finally come.

Sugarbush Resort, Vermont's Slide Brook Express—the longest detachable quad chairlift in the world—is back open for business.

Constructed in 1995, the Slide Brook Express covers a massive 11,012 feet, traveling between Sugarbush's Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen—it's almost like the East Coast's Peak 2 Peak Gondola.

Now that the Slide Brook Express is running for the season, it'll spin from 10:00 AM to 3:15 PM daily, letting Sugarbush skiers bag multiple peaks in one day.

Due to Sugarbush's bifurcated nature, the alternative to the Slide Brook Express is an intermountain shuttle that operates throughout the Mad River Valley. I'd rather take a chairlift than a bus, so I imagine local skiers are excited about Slide Brook Express' reopening.

Like much of the East Coast, Sugarbush had a bumpy early season with a period of intense rain. However, the resort is now on track, with all its 111 trails open. Game on!
