Indoor Ski Resort To Stay Open Until 1 a.m. for One Night in July

Big Snow is the only indoor, real-snow, year-round ski and snowboard area in North America. It’s located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, inside a shopping mall and across the street from MetLife Stadium, where the New York Giants and Jets play football.

Typically, the slopes are open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and stay open an hour later until 9 p.m. on Friday. On the weekends, Big Snow is open at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Big Snow is owned and operated by Snow Partners, an ownership group that also owns and operates Mountain Creek in New Jersey.

Semi-professional snowboarder and content creator Casey Willax held a two-day clinic earlier this year at Big Snow. The East Coast Lady Boarders will hold a by-women, for-women snowboard camp on August 1, 2025. At the start of June, the nonprofit Beyond the Boundaries also had a skills clinic in the snow dome.

What Big Snow does best is make the mountains more accessible. For those in the tri-state area that are likely only able to make the trek once or twice a year to the mountains, Big Snow provides a year-round location for them to shake off some rust, or take a few lessons in to learn the basics.

That way, when you finally get to the slopes, you can spend your time enjoying all that Vail, Killington, or Mountain Creek has to offer.
