The most dominant snowboard cross riders in U.S. Olympic history is now a girl mom.
Lindsey Jacobellis revealed the news in an Instagram post on July 15, 2025.“Baby girl is here!” the post said. “So excited, and a little tired, but baby girl is here. Next step is to recover and try to find a groove in this new chapter.”
Jacobellis made her pregnancy news public back in March with a phone call to her boardercross teammate Nick Baumgartner. The duo won an Olympic gold medal together back in the 2022 Olympics. They were the only two riders in the entire field to have been born in the 1980s.
“I just wanted to catch up with you, because obviously I haven’t been on tour with you for a couple races and it feels a little odd, but I’ve just been taking some time,” she said. “I was calling to let you know about our team race, I just wanted to announce that I can’t be your teammate for the next race because I got a new teammate.”
Jacobellis is the most decorated boarder cross rider in history, with five world championships and 10 X Games titles. She won two gold medals at the 2022 Olympics, and won silver in 2006.
Jacobellis is still a member of the U.S snowboard cross team, though there has been no word on whether she will make a push to join the Olympics team in Milano-Cortina in 2026.
