It's a marriage that makes perfect sense. The North Face will be the official performance apparel partner of U.S. Ski and Snowboard for the next eight years.

The North Face will outfit the national team athletes, coaches, and staff across all 11 U.S. Ski & Snowboard disciplines, including the Toyota U.S. Para Snowboard Team and the Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team. Athletes will wear The North Face gear during World Cup events, World Championships, national events, official training camps, and the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games through April 2034.

The North Face announced an eight-year partnership Tuesday. The collection will include base layers, mid-layers, training wear, accessories, and bags/luggage to support the full year-round lifecycle of the riders. A commercial collection that includes t-shirts, hats, and hoodies will be available the public in fall of 2026.

“This partnership is about more than outerwear; it’s about equipping our athletes with world-class gear that supports them from training to competition as we build toward 2030 and 2034," Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard, said in a press release. "We’re proud to partner with a brand that shares our commitment to excellence, athlete-driven innovation and pushing the limits of what’s possible.”

The North Face has teamed up with its athletes - including team rider Nik Baden - to help develop the gear that offers the right speed, warmth, protection, and (most important to most of us) style. The kits will feature gear with technology like Futurelight, Cloud Down insulation, Futurefleece, DotKnit and DryVent technologies along with Gore-Tex

“The partnership between U.S. Ski & Snowboard and The North Face brings together the best of our two organizations, with our long shared commitments to elite mountain and adventure sports athletes,” said Dennis Seydel, Chief Marketing Officer at The North Face, in a press release. “As a brand forged by those who push the boundaries of human potential, we are proud to provide current and future generations of ski and snowboard legends with The North Face as they train and compete on the world stage.”

It's a partnership that finally does the U.S. snowboard team justice. From what I've seen so far, some of the kits have have that classic colorblocking TNF made iconic. The freestyle kits have a baggier fit, which of course, is a necessity in this day-and-age. And while some of the design work features some original designs that will come into the public's eye in the near future, it's not too in-your-face with the Americana concepts.

Kappa was the previous outfitter of U.S. Ski and Snowboard. That partnership started in 2022. The gear for the Olympics was pretty solid but it was a bit odd to have your favorite snowboarders donning gear made from a soccer brand. Volcom was the partner for the 2018 Olympics. For the 12 years before that, Burton was in control.
