The 12th edition of the National Women’s Soccer League Championship will take place at PayPal Park in San Jose, the league announced Friday morning. The match on Saturday, November 22, will kick off at 8 p.m.ET/5 p.m. local time and be aired nationally on CBS.

“We’re thrilled to bring the NWSL Championship back to the West Coast and to a region with as rich a history in women’s soccer as the Bay Area,” said NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman. “This community’s passion for the game, combined with the excitement surrounding one of our newest teams in Bay FC, makes it the perfect setting to celebrate the league’s top talent and crown our next champion.”

Placing the game in the Bay Area continues the league’s embracing of California. There were no teams in the state until Angel City and San Diego Wave joined in 2022. They were joined by Bay FC, which has played home matches at PayPal since beginning play in 2023. This will mark the second time in three years that the NWSL Championship will be decided in California. Two years ago, Gotham defeated the Reign at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

The last time a professional women’s soccer championship was decided in the Bay Area was 2010. That year, the WPS regular season champion FC Gold Pride earned hosting rights and beat the Philadelphia Independence at Pioneer Stadium in Hayward, CA. FC Gold Pride was coached by current Bay FC head coach Albertin Montoya and led on the field by now Orlando Pride star Marta.

The 2025 NWSL playoffs begin the weekend of November 7-9. Tickets for the NWSL Championship will go on sale in August. Fans can sign up for exclusive access to a presale. The NWSL is also partnering with Google Pixel, as presenting sponsor of the match, to award a trip for two to the match via fan sweepstakes.
