Crystal Palace is going through a major state of change right now after their first-ever major trophy win last season.
At the end of the 2024/25 campaign, Palace won the FA Cup for the first time, gaining them entry to the UEFA Conference League, and teeing up their Community Shield clash with Liverpool.
The Eagles, on the pack of their recent trophy win, beat Liverpool on penalties, lifting their second piece of silverware in a matter of months.
However, last summer saw yet another major shift in Oliver Glasner’s squad.
A year before, Micheal Olise moved from Selhurst Park to join Bayern Munich in a £46 million move.
Last summer, another major attacker left, with Eberechi Eze joining Arsenal, however wasn’t looking to be the only high-profile departure.
Whilst Jean-Phillipe Mateta was getting interest from Manchester United, Liverpool had a deal on the line for captain Marc Guehi, which ultimately fell through.
Now, Guehi has left Palace, however to Macnhester City instead, marking another top player Oliver Glasner has lost from his side.
Unfortunately for Glaser, into the final six months of his time at Selhurst Park, he could be set to lose another key player.
The Athletic has reported that Nottingham Forest have launched a bid of £35 million for Jean-Phillipe Mateta who wants a move from Palace this month.
The Eagles have reportedly already rejected a bid from Juventus, however with that coming in at £25 million, the Forest offer is considerably better for Glasner’s side.
However, it still falls short of the £4o million valuation for the 28-year-old, and with interest from other top clubs, Palace are in no rush to sell.
Whilst Juventus have left the transfer race, Aston Villa are interested in the attacker, so a move to Forest isn’t guaranteed.
