Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their defensive unit at the end of the season, and they have identified Koni De Winter from Genoa as a target.

According to Give Me Sport, they have enquired about the 22-year-old defender, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to submit an offer for him. He is likely to cost around €25-30 million this summer.

The 22-year-old is capable of operating as a central defender, a full-back or a defensive midfielder. He has been quite impressive for Genoa this season, and there is no doubt that he would be a quality long-term investment for Tottenham as well.

West Ham and Crystal Palace are keen

West Ham and Crystal Palace are keen on the player as well. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can win the race for his signature. The player has been linked with Manchester United as well.

It is no secret that they need defensive additions this summer. The 22-year-old will help them tighten up at the back. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be exciting for the young defender as well.

Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season, and Tottenham have identified the need to sign a central defender as a priority.

Spurs certainly have the financial muscle to pay the reported asking price for him, and the 22-year-old could develop into a very important player for them in the long term.

Koni De Winter has done well this season

Winter has been in outstanding form in Italian football, and he has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well.

He is averaging 4.6 ball recoveries per game in the league this season. De Winter has a passing accuracy of 87.1% in the league, and he is averaging 4.3 clearances per game as well.
