Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with the move for Thomas Frank in recent weeks, and he is expected to come in as a replacement for Ange Postecoglou.
According to former Everton CEO Keith Wyness, the 51-year-old manager has the right personality to handle Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, and he is expected to come in as the club’s new manager.
He said to Football Insider: “I do expect Frank to come in. He’s got the right personality to handle Levy and he’s had the experience with Brentford.
“It would be a loss for Brentford, but I think it’s time for him to move on from there as well.”
There is no doubt that Frank has done an impressive job at Brentford, and he has the qualities to manage a bigger club. He could be an excellent appointment for Tottenham as they look to bounce back strongly next season. They have had a disappointing Premier League campaign, and they finished close to the relegation zone.
Postecoglou is likely to be shown the door soon. Even though he has delivered the UEFA Europa League trophy, he has failed to live up to the expectations overall. A club of Tottenham’s stature should be fighting for trophies regularly and finishing in the top four. Their performance in the league under the Australian manager has been abysmal.
Winning the European trophy cannot paper over the cracks, and this is the right time for Tottenham to make a change. They have a talented squad, and a new manager could bring out the best in them.
Frank has proven himself at Brentford with limited resources, and there is no doubt that he could do an impressive job at Tottenham as well. Meanwhile, this is the right time for the Denmark manager to take the next step in his career and join a club capable of winning trophies. It could be an exciting opportunity for him.
