5 Most SELECTED Players on FPL

We’re three weeks into Fantasy Premier League by now. With the season starting to take shape, the most desirable players to have in your FPL squads are starting to make themselves known.

But who are the players who’ve been selected by the highest number of FPL users at this point in the competition? Today, we’ll aim to answer that question.

Players from clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal all feature in this list. Before we begin, can you guess who they are?

David Raya

This shouldn’t come as a surprise. By far the most-selected goalkeeper in FPL at this time, David Raya has been picked by 38.9% of players at the time of writing.

Despite being expensive for a ‘keeper, players are naturally drawn towards Raya for his frequency of keeping clean sheets – with such a solid defence in front of him, it’s almost always a safe bet.

Of course, when he is called into action, he can also pull off some spectacular saves. As far as we see it, Raya is the best goalkeeper in the world right now.

Bruno Fernandes

At £12.0m, Bruno Fernandes is certainly very expensive – but given his current points output, he’s worth the hefty price tag he commands.

Granted, he has only produced a worthwhile score in one gameweek thus far – but when you consider that he delivered 23 points in gameweek two, this makes up for his lack of contribution in gameweeks one and three.

Simply put Fernandes isn’t just one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, he’s also very forward-thinking – he is always looking to score and create goals, which pays dividends in FPL.

Riccardo Calafiori

The most-selected defender in FPL this year, Riccard Calafiori has backed up his owners’ faith in him by delivering 22 points so far this season.

All in all, only three players have won a greater points total than the Italian international has – funnily enough, they all play for Hull City.

A brilliant defensive presence who has developed a strong attacking acumen over the last couple of years, Calafiori is amongst the best full-backs in the world at the moment.

Erling Haaland

You all saw this one coming. Erling Haaland has been perhaps the most reliable source of points on FPL since he joined Manchester City back in 2022.

At £15.5m, he is by far the most expensive player in FPL this year, but this is a sacrifice that most FPL users are willing to make. Right now, he is in 71.3% of all squads.

In a way, it’s more of a risk to build your squad without Haaland than it is to build it around him. If he comes home with a large gameweek total – which he often does – the 28.7% of players that don’t have him will be left behind.

Joao Pedro

We were a little surprised by this, but given the lack of consistent forwards in the Premier League this season, it makes sense that so many players would opt to include Joao Pedro in their squads.

At £7.5m, he isn’t too expensive, either. He’s one of the more expensive forwards in the game this year, for sure, but he certainly won’t break the bank. He’s less than half as expensive as what Haaland is, for example.

Furthermore, with Chelsea being such a free-scoring outfit this season and lacking a quality backup striker, having Pedro in your squad is a very safe bet.
