Francesco Acerbi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan continue to play pivotal roles for Inter Milan, proving that experience remains just as valuable as youth.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Cristian Chivu views the veteran duo as indispensable for the Nerazzurri’s balance on the field.

Despite being in the autumn of his career, Francesco Acerbi remains one of Inter’s defensive cornerstones.

Indeed, the former Lazio center-back will turn 38 in February, but he’s still performing at the highest level.

Acerbi’s defensive prowess most recently helped Inter hold Roma at bay in Saturday’s 1-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico.

Acerbi & Mkhitaryan Still Indispensable for Inter Milan

Though Acerbi’s performances still inspire confidence, his game time requires careful management.

Therefore, he will likely make way for Stefan de Vrij in tomorrow’s Champions League clash against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan could also drop to the bench after playing a prominent role in Inter’s triumph in Rome.

Indeed, Petar Sucic and Davide Frattesi are in contention for the starting lineup at the expense of the 36-year-old.

Nonetheless, the ex-Manchester United ace remains a key figure in Chivu’s project.
