Dutch pundits Mario Been and Hans Kraay says Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj should've played up an early foul against Aston Villa on Thursday.

Villa thumped Ajax 4-0 on the night to reach the quarterfinals.

On 15 minutes, Villa striker Ollie Watkins fouled Ramaj and was shown a yellow card. But Been says the keeper could've made more of the clash.

Been said on Goedemorgen Eredivisie: "He is German, but this is typically Dutch.

"There has been far too little fuss about this, including by the rest of the Ajax players. I think this is a red card.

"If this happens to an Italian team, they roll back and forth seven times and the VAR might take a look," Been continues. "This could have helped to perhaps achieve a result."

"I really think this is one of the biggest scandals of recent months," says Kraay. "It is truly incredible. We know that things are difficult at Ajax, but if you can come up against ten Aston Villa men after fifteen minutes, you simply have a chance."
