After signing head coach Simone Inzaghi from Inter this summer, reports from Italy claim that Al-Hilal are targeting Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio, in an attempt to reunite the Italian duo in Saudi Arabia.

According to what has been reported by Alfredo Pedullà, via CalcioMercato, the Saudi club are hoping that the relationship between Inzaghi and Ausilio is enough to help tempt the sporting director into leaving Inter.

Not an easy move by any means, especially during the transfer window, but after an active summer which has seen the Saudi Pro League side add Inzaghi, along with Theo Hernandez and Darwin Nuñez, they are eager to fill other key vacancies at the club.

Could Al-Hilal spell end of decades-long stay for Ausilio at Inter

Ausilio joined Inter in 1998 as secretary of the youth academy. Since then, the Italian has risen through the ranks, becoming the director of the youth system and eventually sporting director. Ausilio formed a strong partnership with Simone Inzaghi in his four years at the club and now speculation insists the two could once again work together, this time in Saudi Arabia.
