Manchester United are handed a big opportunity to cash in on Alejandro Garnacho as Al-Nassr seek a Luis Diaz alternative. The Red Devils and Garnacho have decided to part ways during the summer transfer window amid a massive squad overhaul.

Ruben Amorim has already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and plans to add more players to bolster his attacking department. The situation leaves no room for Garnacho to hone his immense potential, after struggling with consistency under the Portuguese boss.

A lot of United players, along with Garnacho, have struggled to adjust to the tactical philosophy of Amorim last season. United cannot afford to suffer the same embarrassment that they endured last season by finishing 16th in the Premier League.

Man United have a long-standing tradition of giving time and resources to their academy players to thrive and establish themselves. However, their financial situation puts them in a peculiar situation where they have to make unpopular decisions to make improvements.

According to The Mirror, Al-Nassr are targeting United star Garnacho as an alternative to Liverpool attacker Diaz this summer window. Early reports have highlighted the price tag of €60m (£50.4m) that United have set for the 20-year-old Argentine attacker.

Now that Garnacho’s departure is certain, United would prefer a quick exit to use those funds in other required areas. The Red Devils have many positions riddled with vulnerability that they need to address before the window closes this summer.

As for Garnacho, the Argentine could potentially demand a stay in Europe due to the quality of the Saudi Pro League. The 20-year-old is young and needs to play at the most competitive level to establish himself at the international level.

The 2025-26 season’s performance will decide the World Cup status for many players, including Garnacho. The 20-year-old’s position in Argentina’s squad is not established enough for him to take such big risks.
