Alejandro Garnacho is not the most beloved former Manchester United player.

The 22-year-old left Old Trafford a year ago to sign for Chelsea in a deal worth around £40 million after a sour end to the Argentine’s time at the club.

But the Blues are already searching to sell Garnacho after a poor first season, and have left the winger out of their pre-season plans.

Unsurprisingly, after a Premier League season that saw Alejandro Garnacho score just one goal, there are no suitors falling head over heels to sign the Chelsea flop.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano on his Italian YouTube channel, Aston Villa and Chelsea have held conversations over a potential transfer for Garnacho. Despite the potential deal on the cards, Garnacho prefers to move to a different league away from England and has not accepted Unai Emery’s side’s offer.

In the meantime, Serie A side AS Roma are continuing to work on signing Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho’s former club, Manchester United, will be hoping Roma get a deal done for the Argentine. With the Red Devils’ reported interest in Crysencio Summerville, also wanted by Roma, they’ll be hoping the Italians fail to sign their fellow target.

Manchester United will be hoping for a swift end to Alejandro Garnacho’s time at Chelsea, as they will receive a windfall from any transfer, with their 10% sell-on clause.

The Red Devils could do with transfer help, as they assess their next options in the market. Following the signings of midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, as well as back-up goalkeeper Karl Darlow, what comes next will certainly be interesting.

One thing is for sure – most United fans won’t be wishing the best for Alejandro Garnacho, a player criticised for his conduct while at the club.
