New coach Max Allegri was meant to be presented to the Napoli fans this evening, but was forced to abandon the event due to illness.
The former Milan and Juventus boss had been all set to take the stage at the pre-season training camp in Dimaro, where he’d answer questions along with his staff.
However, the question and answer session was cancelled because Allegri is suffering from flu symptoms.
He was also nowhere to be seen at today’s training session, so his assistant took over putting the players through their paces.
The coach is expected to be back on the field on Wednesday, unless his condition drags on for longer.
Allegri had been unveiled in an event in Naples with President Aurelio De Laurentiis, but that was for the media and VIP guests at the iconic Teatro San Carlo.
Napoli have been using the 4-3-3 formation so far this summer, and are scheduled to play a friendly test against Arezzo on Wednesday evening.
